SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER / RSM BIRDIES FOR LOVE

The Northern Texas PGA Foundation is pleased to announce a new partnership with PGA TOUR professional Scottie Scheffler as he supports junior golf in conjunction with the RSM Birdies for Love grant program.

As a former NTPGA Junior Tour member from 2002-2010, Scheffler played 136 tournaments on the Prep, Medalist and All American Tours, before “graduating” to the Legends Junior Tour. He has a personal connection to the NTPGA’s junior golf programs. “Playing on the NTPGA Junior Tour was a learning curve for me. It is basically where I learned how to play golf. You know, playing since I was probably six or seven years old starting in the 9-hole tournaments and eventually making it all the way to the Legends Tour, it really kind of shaped me as a golfer when I was pretty young,” said Scheffler in an interview with the Northern Texas PGA.

To further encourage growth of the game, junior golfers in North Texas who have a passion for the game of golf but lack the financial means to join and compete on the Northern Texas PGA Junior Tour will have an opportunity to do so through a new grant initiative that has been created compliments of Scottie Scheffler and the RSM Birdies Fore Love grant program.

JORDAN SPIETH FAMILY FOUNDATION

11-time PGA TOUR champion and former Northern Texas PGA Tour Member Jordan Spieth and the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation as well as the Holly and Northern Texas PGA Foundation, are pleased to provide an initiative to help grow the game in North Texas. This opportunity is specifically for participants in the Drive, Chip and Putt local qualifiers conducted in North Texas that have never been a Member of the Northern Texas PGA Junior Tour.

“While preparing for my first Masters last year, I had the opportunity to watch the Drive, Chip and Putt finals firsthand at Augusta National Golf Club. It was amazing to see the excitement and talent of all the young players. I knew right then and there that I wanted to be involved with this great event and support it locally. Supporting junior golf is really important to me and the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship is a great way for me to give back.” - Jordan Spieth, April 3, 2015

Drive, Chip and Putt was canceled for 2020. Resuming again next year participants received a FREE Northern Texas PGA Junior Tour Membership, compliments of the Northern Texas PGA Foundation, along with a $40.00 credit that could be applied to any NTPGA Junior Tour event(s) courtesy of the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation.

In addition, the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation supports our scholarship program with the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation scholarship along with the Cameron McCormick Golf scholarship. Click HERE to learn more about our scholarship program.
